This study was conducted to investigate the effect of lentil dust on pulmonary functions. Pulmonary function tests were performed on 25 smoker male workers on first day after weekend preshift and postshift following six hours workshift period in a lentil factory in Gaziantep. 12 male subjects who were selected at random among from smoker and asymptomatic university staff were the control group. At the end of the study, it was obtained that lentil dust causes an acute obstruction on the large airways of lentil workers.
