Abstract

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), a special form of linear programming, has been used to measure comparative productivity of businesses which have the same goals and objectives. Majority of the businesses tend to make use of information systems in order to increase their efficiency and productivity, decrease transaction costs, save labor, improve intra-organizational communication, increase the quality of goods produced or services provided, obtain customer satisfaction, and consequently improve competitive power in international markets. Information systems and related software are increasingly used by health sector. Each institution (hospital, bank, court, school, etc.) can be compared with similar units of a system of which it is a piece, and comparative efficiencies can be determined. In this study, using the data of 21 different hospitals of chess illnesses, technical and scale efficiencies are calculated, and determining the relationship between information systems and institutional performance is aimed.
