Abstract

In the study, HBsAg was determined by Elisa Wellcozyme HBsAg kits in the sera of the 100 butchers working at slaughter house. Study was completed at Ankara University Medical School, Microbiology Departinent Elisa Laboratory. The cutt-off value was found as 0.272 Regarding the different factors which constitute HBV injections epidemiology this study was programmed. The butchers were ali men with a range of 15-56 years old and it was determined that they had no major health problems. Seropositivity was found as 13/100(13 %) in the above mentioned cases. The positive cases were traced between 21-45 years old and it was observed that they ali worked as butchers, for many years.
