Abstract

In this sutdy, we have investigated HSV-2 lgM with ELİSA, in sera of the mother with obstetric problems such as stillbirth, prematurity and abortus and sera of baby's cord. Patological pregnancies such as stillbirth abortus and congenital anomaly have been enrolled in this study. Whereas HSV-2 lgM was found positive in two cases of both mother and cord sera; in four cases, seropositivity was found in a sera of mother but not in cord sera. The mother's seropositivity was obtained in cases of abortus (2 cases), stillbirth (3 cases) and anencephaly (1 case). 2 pregnancies who have their babies' cord sera positive for HSV-2 lgM, hava been resulted with abortus.
