A male patient was admitted to the Department of Surgery for left chest pain and loca] mass at about 9 th costa. He was operated for this anterior axiller line mass. Solitary and encapsulated tumor and partially adjacent costa resected totaly. Histopathological diagnosis was intercostal schwannoma(neurilemoma). This case is reported and the literature reviewed in relation to the rarity of intercostal schwannomas.
